Ewwww! New Girl Scout Cookies As Good For You As Eating Broccoli?
Man, talk about going the long way around to show that cookies ain’t good fer ya...
The Mango Crèmes are the latest offering as the Girl Scouts prep for another season of sales. They are said to be a crispy cookie with vanilla, coconut, mango and “NutriFusion™.” What that means is that in addition to the tropical flair, the cookies also supposedly have “supercharged” nutritional value.
The Girl Scout cookie bakers, ABC Bakers, says that the crème filling has “all the nutrient benefits of eating cranberries, pomegranates, oranges, grapes and strawberries!” The cookie also has no preservatives and no hydrogenated oils, and contains no trans fats per serving. The cookie also has some vitamin value, though of course it is still a cookie when all is said and done.
Ask yourself: is a cookie where we should be looking for ‘super-charged nutrition?”
